About Pioneers Day of Giving
The Pioneers Day of Giving tradition began in 2016, in honor of UW-Platteville’s Sesquicentennial Celebration. This annual event brings Pioneers together from near and far in support of the UW-Platteville Foundation.
The 2022 University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers Day of Giving, received over 675 donations totaling more than $166,000 from alumni and friends. Last year’s Day of Giving spanned two days, allowing for 1,866 minutes to give in honor of the university’s founding year. A record number of people participated last year, including more students than ever before.
“Pioneers Day of Giving is a special day for UW-Platteville and its Foundation,” said Joshua Boots, assistant vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Engagement. “The Pioneer family continues to inspire me by their generosity and thoughtfulness. The spirit of giving they are showcasing will be making a transformational difference for years to come.”
This year, the Pioneers Day of Giving is moving to April 27 and 28. April 28 is Global Pay It Forward Day which encourages people around the world to engage in a small act of kindness.
